Address _____________________ ____________________________ I, Nathan O. Weeks/Anne S. Kotlus, sell a Weimaraner (AVID#)_____________________M / F
to the above named buyer for the sum of $1300.00 on ______________ .
The above puppy is guaranteed for a 30-day period against all physical/structural and congenital defects. An exception is as follows:
The puppy is not guaranteed for health problems if multiple vaccinations are given at the same time before sixteen weeks. The WCA has issued a policy statement recommending a conservative approach to vaccination of Weimaraner puppies because of a potential autoimmune reaction to vaccinations. Your puppy has been given a five way combination vaccine at six weeks, and a week later a bordatella vaccine. It is recommended that your vet follow up with another vaccination not to exceed a five-way combination. Vaccines for heartworm, giardia, Lyme, and others as recommended by your vet should not be given at the same time as the initial follow-up vaccination. Injected medication for flea and tic control is not recommended, neither is the use of topical flea and tic medication before sixteen weeks. An injected vaccination for heartworms is not recommended. Please allow at least a week between vaccinations for the puppy’s system to react to the vaccine. If the puppy is found to be unsound, with a veterinarian’s note describing the unsoundness, the puppy may be returned for a full refund, less the original (non-refundable) deposit. The breeder has the option to get a second opinion, from a veterinarian of his choice, at his cost; breeder will arrange pick-up and delivery for the visit. If there is a treatment available to repair the abnormality, the breeder will be contacted and, depending upon the severity, he will pay half the treatment costs. If the buyer does not want to keep the puppy or get a refund, the buyer may have another puppy from the next litter in exchange for the original puppy. The buyer will be placed first on the deposit list. Deposits to secure purchase of a puppy are non-refundable after 72 hours. Puppies are micro-chipped and will have been wormed and given their first shots. The breeder also provides health records, pedigree and educational reading. The puppy is also guaranteed for 26 months against hip dysphasia if it is NOT neutered or spayed before 14 (fourteen) months. If the puppy is diagnosed with moderate or severe dysphasia with a veterinarian’s note, the purchase price will be refunded less the original non-refundable deposit or the buyer may receive a replacement puppy from the next litter in exchange for the original puppy. Buyer agrees to follow the Glucosamine Chondroitin and Vitamin C program described by the Breeder for those who wish their dog to run or jog with them. These supplements help to develop strong bones and joints necessary for those occupations. Breeder strongly suggests Puppy Kindergarten and Obedience classes as well as at least one day a week of Doggie Daycare after the puppy has received its rabies vaccine and bordatella (kennel cough.)Buyer should call their local vet to get names of reputable training classes and daycares in their area.Friends and relatives are also a good source for these services. Puppies are sold on limited registration and are sold as pets unless otherwise discussed with breeder.Breeder highly suggests that puppies are spayed or neutered for reasons of health and happiness (not before 14 months.)If the buyer intends to breed the dog/bitch they must bring the dog or bitch back to the breeder after appropriate hip and eye clearances have been obtained.Females must be over 22 months. If the breeder sees no unsoundness and the clearances are satisfactory the breeder will change the registration.Buyer will pay 50% more for a breeding animal upon registration.Buyer must also be aware that breeding dogs is a tremendous investment in time, knowledge and commitment, and should not be entered into lightly. Buyer has been provided the history of their dog in their puppy packet.Breeder has reviewed care, training, discipline and medical history of their dog.Breeder is available at any time to discuss, educate or listen to buyer’s concerns.
Buyer agrees to inform breeder if they are unable to keep their puppy or dog for any reason;Breeder will find a new home for the puppy/dog.Buyer also realizes that Weimaraners do not do well with change.Moving and vacations are difficult for them as they do not do well in kennels.Friends, family and pet sitters are good options at these times.
